The Huawei Pocket 2 smartphone launched in China on Thursday, 22 February. This is the first foldable smartphone with a clamshell design and four rear camera units. The Pocket 2 has a double-arm lever gear that boosts support force by 41% and a Xuanwu water drop hinge that improves flatness by 62%. It comes in four colors and three RAM and storage configurations, with an additional, more costly Art edition.
Design
In terms of looks, the Pocket 2 is quite similar to its predecessor, the Pocket S. There is a clamshell folding design supported by a horizontal hinge. The two circular modules for the back cameras and the round cover display are still attached to the back. The company is offering a new hinge with second-generation Kulun glass technology and aerospace-grade “rocket steel” materials for durability.
